Every South Asian bride arrives at the same small, stubborn question. The outfit is chosen. The jewelry is set. The date is circled. And then — what am I actually going to carry?
DulhansDiary started there. We went looking for a bridal clutch that belonged with the outfit — not a generic evening bag, not something plastic pretending to be gold, but real zardozi, real weight in the hand — and we couldn't find it. So we set out to build the collection we couldn't buy.
Today that collection runs from hand-embroidered clutches and potli bags to khussa and juttis, kundan jewelry, and keepsake boxes for the trousseau. All of it handmade. All of it made for women who want tradition without wearing it as a costume.
A small shop, run by one of you
DulhansDiary is founder-led, not a warehouse with a logo on it. It's built by a South Asian woman who grew up around these crafts and got tired of watching them turn up online as cheap imitations of themselves — the embroidery printed instead of stitched, the "gold" flaking off by the second wearing.
So we stayed small on purpose. We choose every piece ourselves, we answer our own messages, and if you write to us about a bag, you're writing to the person who picked it.
Made for the whole room, not just the bride
Brides first — but never only brides. Mothers and mothers-in-law. Sisters and bridesmaids. The friend flying in from three time zones away who needs one good clutch that works for all four events. And the women who simply like beautiful things and don't need a wedding as an excuse.
If you want something that doesn't exist yet, we make those too. Names, initials, your exact shade of fuchsia, a piece designed around your outfit — custom orders typically take two to four weeks, so tell us your event date and we'll be straight with you about whether we can make it.

Made by hand, one thread at a time
Everything we sell is handmade — not handmade as a marketing word, but made by artisans who have spent years learning a single craft.
Zardozi is embroidered by hand on a wooden frame, one metallic thread at a time. Kundan is set stone by stone. Brass clutches are shaped, engraved and plated by metalworkers practicing a craft that is centuries old. A single embroidered clutch can take days.
That is also why no two pieces are quite identical — a bead sitting a fraction differently, a thread catching the light its own way. It isn't a flaw in the process. It is the process.
Made to outlive the wedding day
We design for the years after the event, not just the event.
The brass clutch that carried you through your reception should still be the bag you reach for at a dinner five years from now. The trousseau box that held your jewelry on the morning of should sit on your dresser long after the flowers are gone.
That is the difference between an accessory and a keepsake, and it is the only kind of thing we want to make.
